To say that marriage is one of the most significant events in someone's life would be an understatement. It's an indication that you've crossed over from Brahmacharayashram to Grihasthashramam, because of its significance. People in society and family members may finally see that their children are ready to establish a new family and embrace this.
One of the most holy unions is Vivah. Invoking the gods and goddesses of Hinduism to bless the newlyweds is done via the practice of Pooja at the wedding ceremony. In this sacred union, the Fire functions as the witness or Sakshi (the flame). Lifelong pledges are made by the bride and groom at the Vivah Puja ceremony.
All of our ancestors, deities, and goddesses will bless the couple by doing this puja. It will also bring happiness and good fortune to the couple's marriage.
Is Vivah Puja (Marriage Ceremony) Mandatory?
- The Muhurat for the wedding ceremony is chosen depending on the horoscopes of the bride and husband.
- Both the bride and groom have a say in the date of the Vivah or wedding ceremony.
