
Satyanarayan Satyanarayan, Lord Vishnu's most pious form, is the target of a Puja ceremony. "Satya" refers to the truth, whereas "Narayana" refers to the supreme deity. Since then he has been revered as the pinnacle of righteousness and truth. As a form of thanksgiving, the puja is performed when an auspicious event in a person's life begins or ends with success. People do the puja to have their prayers and aspirations granted. The goal of this puja is to bring the family and friends together, to promote unity and harmony, and to ensure that the family is blessed with wealth, prosperity, joy, and peace.
This puja has been conducted since antiquity and is mentioned in the Skanda Purana. Narada is said to have requested Lord Vishnu for a mantra or a means to alleviate the suffering of mankind. According to Lord Vishnu, worshipping Lord Satyanarayan would be the ultimate path to ecstasy and liberation in the Kaliyuga period.
It starts with a reading of Lord Satyanarayan Kathas including five chapters by Panditji. In order to gain the blessings of Lord Satyanarayan, a Havan is conducted. Satynarayan Puja Prasad is distributed at the conclusion of the ceremony.
When Is Satyanarayan Puja Appropriately Performed?
- It is considered auspicious to do business on Saturdays, Ekadashi, and Poornima (full-moon day) in the months of Kartik and Baishakh.
- This puja is often performed at night, however it may also be done in the morning.
The Satyanarayan Puja Procedures:
